Vietnam and Russia held a political consultation at the deputy foreign ministerial level in the Russian city of Vladivostok on September 5.
At the event, Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son and his Russian counterpart I.V.Morgulov reviewed bilateral cooperation recently, highlighting the mutual trust in bilateral political and diplomatic relations and the growth in economics – trade.
They assessed that agreements reached between the two countries’ leaders are being strongly implemented, thus benefiting both sides.
The officials discussed measures to further enhance collaboration in all fields, and agreed on the need to boost economics – trade ties to bring them on a par with the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia.
Son and Morgulov also examined the preparation for visits by the two countries’ high-ranking officials scheduled for 2014 and the agenda of the 17 th meeting of the Vietnam – Russia intergovernmental committee on economic – trade and scientific – technological cooperation to be held in Vladivostok on September 6.
They shared their views on regional and international issues of mutual concern and agreed that both countries will continue working closely at the United Nations and other international forums.
