His remarks came during a meeting with Valentina Ivanovna Matvienko, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, as part of his official visit.
Mrs. Matvienko expressed Russia's strong appreciation for NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man’s visit, which she said would not only expand inter-parliamentary cooperation but also enhance the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Russia and Vietnam.
The relationship between the two nations has spanned nearly 75 years, and both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to fostering further cooperation in various fields.
During their talks, the two leaders reviewed the achievements of the Vietnam-Russia partnership, which has seen 30 years of strong ties since the signing of the Treaty on Basic Principles of Vietnam-Russia Friendship, and over a decade of their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
With the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations approaching, both sides agreed to continue promoting cooperation in key areas such as energy, defense, education, culture, and tourism.
NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man thanked the Russian government and parliament for ensuring the safety and well-being of more than 60,000 Vietnamese nationals living and working in Russia.
He urged Russia to finalize labor agreements that would facilitate the recruitment of Vietnamese workers and to make it easier for citizens of both countries to travel and interact.
The two sides also signed a new cooperation agreement between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the Federation Council of the Russian Federal Assembly. Both leaders emphasized the importance of continued high-level exchanges and collaboration between the legislative bodies of both countries.
On September 10th, NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with Governor Vasily Golubev of Rostov Province, expressing appreciation for the close cooperation between Rostov and Vietnam, particularly the province’s partnership with Ba Ria - Vung Tau.
NA Chairman Man also encouraged Governor Golubev to support the Vietnamese community in Rostov and to foster deeper economic, cultural, and educational ties between the province and other Vietnamese localities.
Governor Golubev affirmed his commitment to strengthening trade, tourism, and educational exchanges between Rostov and Vietnamese provinces. He noted that the province excels in industries such as electricity, textiles, light industry, and agriculture, which offer strong potential for future cooperation with Vietnam.
During his visit to Russia, NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man also met with representatives of the Vietnamese business community in Russia, emphasizing the importance of their role in strengthening the bilateral relationship between the two countries.
