During meetings with Venezuelan leaders, Le Hoai Trung briefed them on the key outcomes of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and highlighted the country's recent development achievements.
He reaffirmed that Vietnam highly values its traditional friendship and Comprehensive Partnership with Venezuela, an important partner with significant potential in South America. Vietnam, he said, consistently supports Venezuela's constitutional government in its efforts to develop the country for the benefit of its people.
The foreign minister noted that bilateral ties have continued to develop positively on the strong foundation built by the late President Hugo Chavez and successive generations of Vietnamese leaders.
He said the visit reflected the determination of Vietnam's Party and State to further strengthen bilateral relations in the new stage by deepening political ties, enhancing mutual trust and expanding practical cooperation in areas where both countries can complement and support one another.
Venezuelan leaders recalled their positive impressions from previous visits to Vietnam and the warm hospitality extended by Vietnamese leaders. They expressed admiration for Vietnam's achievements in its Doi Moi (Renewal) process and its remarkable socio-economic progress, as well as its growing international standing, describing these accomplishments as valuable lessons for Venezuela's own development.

Acting President Delcy Rodriguez and other Venezuelan ministers expressed confidence that the Vietnamese people, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam headed by General Secretary and President To Lam, would achieve further successes in the country's new era of development. They also thanked Vietnam for its consistent support for the Venezuelan government and people.
The Venezuelan side reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing its chosen development path with determination and flexibility, describing Vietnam as one of Venezuela's most important strategic partners both in the region and globally. They expressed a desire to elevate the traditional friendship and Comprehensive Partnership to a deeper and more substantive level.
Both sides agreed to convene the third session of the Vietnam-Venezuela Intergovernmental Committee in Caracas in October this year, maintain regular and effective political consultations between the two foreign ministries, and expand cooperation in areas of shared strength and mutual interest, including agriculture and agricultural trade, telecommunications, oil and energy. They also pledged to continue supporting each other at the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement and other international organizations of which both countries are members.
The two countries also agreed on a bilateral agenda for 2026-2030, focusing on political and diplomatic relations; security and defense; agriculture and food security; energy security and oil and gas; trade, investment and economic cooperation; telecommunications, technology and healthcare; culture, education, sports and environmental protection.
The two foreign ministries will jointly develop a Vietnam-Venezuela action plan to implement the agenda, aiming to achieve practical and tangible results ahead of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam-Venezuela Comprehensive Partnership in 2027.
