According to a statement on BIM Group’s official fan page, Mr. Viet's passing has left an immense loss for his family and BIM Group’s 7,000 employees.

Under Mr. Viet's leadership, BIM Group grew to become one of Vietnam’s leading multi-sector corporations with a notable influence that extended beyond the nation's borders.

As reported by Forbes, Mr. Viet held a PhD in physics and was a former Eastern European international student. He and his wife initially began their entrepreneurial journey in Poland before returning to Vietnam to invest and grow their businesses.

BIM Group was established in 1994, initially with the construction of the Ha Long Plaza Hotel, and subsequently expanded into the fields of aquaculture, real estate, and renewable energy.

Today, BIM Group operates as a private multi-sector corporation with major activities in real estate, agriculture and food production, renewable energy, and consumer services.

In real estate, BIM Group has substantial land holdings in Quang Ninh, Phu Quoc, Hanoi, Vinh Phuc, Ninh Thuan, and Laos. The company collaborates with major partners including Hyatt, InterContinental Hotels Group, Sailing Club Leisure Group, The Ascott, and Frasers Property Group.

Through its subsidiary, BIM Energy, BIM Group has invested in renewable energy, particularly solar and wind farms in Ninh Thuan. All solar and wind farm facilities are situated on a 2,500-hectare salt field, creating Vietnam’s largest green economic zone focused on clean energy and salt production.

BIM Group has invested 12 trillion VND in projects in Ninh Thuan, with a long-term goal of generating at least 1 GW of clean energy (wind and solar) by 2025.

Mr. Viet’s son, Doan Quoc Huy, currently serves as Vice Chairman of BIM Group and oversees real estate, energy, and financial investment activities. His daughter, Doan Thanh Mai, is responsible for tourism, commercial services, and marketing operations.
