The visit is scheduled to take place from December 1 to 2.

During the trip, the two General Secretaries will co-chair a high-level meeting between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party.

Vietnam–Laos relations are exceptionally special and have expanded comprehensively across all sectors. Economic and trade cooperation in particular has seen positive growth, with bilateral trade turnover reaching nearly USD 2.5 billion in the first 10 months of 2025  -  a 50.4% increase over the same period in 2024  -  making Vietnam Laos’ third-largest trading partner.

At recent bilateral meetings, Vietnamese leaders have consistently expressed their strong and comprehensive support for Laos’ nation-building and development efforts. They also voiced confidence that under the leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the Lao people will continue to achieve new and greater successes in implementing the Party’s 11th Resolution.

Beyond strengthened cooperation in politics, defense and security, the two sides are also striving to elevate and create breakthroughs in economic collaboration, including increasing two-way trade and enhancing economic infrastructure connectivity.

Several Vietnamese-invested projects in Laos  -  in energy, agriculture, telecommunications and infrastructure  -  are producing tangible results. The two countries are jointly implementing strategic infrastructure works, including transport and energy connectivity.
