Minister Tran Hong Minh officially signed the decision to revoke ACV’s airport operation license, originally granted in 2019. The license was canceled at the request of ACV and in accordance with regulatory termination procedures.

At the same time, a new business license was issued to Sun Airport Corporation. The decision takes effect at midnight on January 1, 2026.

Sun Airport Corporation is headquartered at the Sale Center Convention Center in the Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone, An Giang Province. Its registered place of business is located at Phu Quoc International Airport, in the Duong To area.

Earlier, in late June 2025, the People's Committee of Kien Giang Province had appointed Sun Airport Corporation as the main investor in the airport expansion project. Covering 1,050 hectares, the expansion is designed to meet 4E standards, with a projected capacity of 20 million passengers per year.

The project is one of five fast-tracked developments aimed at readiness for APEC 2027. The operational transition is a key step in the broader strategy to transform Phu Quoc into an international center for tourism and services.
