Administrative news and newly issued government regulations became the focus of online searches in Vietnam during the second quarter of 2026, according to Coc Coc's latest search trends report.
The browser developer reported that searches for "SIM verification" surged by 5,042%.
Other fast-growing queries included "Prime Minister's Directive No. 21," up 2,502%, and "pension authorization letter," up 512%. Longer-term planning topics such as the "100-year planning map," as well as policies with a direct impact on daily life like E10 gasoline, which rose 1,123%, also attracted significant public attention.

On the international front, the 2026 FIFA World Cup led sports-related searches, with interest rising 3,987%.
The tournament's popularity was accompanied by growing concerns about fraud, as searches for "World Cup ticket scams" increased by 1,667%.
In the consumer sector, users responded quickly to reports involving product safety and consumer risks. News related to "Bao Thanh Duong traditional medicine," up 4,833%, "300 tons of pork," up 4,021%, and "vacation scam," up 2,552%, generated sharp but short-lived spikes in search activity after being reported by the media.
New generation AI attracts growing interest
Technology searches reflected a clear shift toward next-generation AI tools.
Alongside widely used platforms such as ChatGPT and Gemini, searches for DeepSeek V4 recorded a remarkable 5,076% increase. ByteDance's Dola AI assistant also saw search interest jump by 2,476%.
Demand remained strong for specialized AI tools that generate audio, images and video, including Suno, ElevenLabs and Dreamina.
Education searches peak during exam season
The second quarter also marked the peak of Vietnam's examination season.
Students closely followed the academic calendar, driving searches for "Grade 10 entrance exam preparation materials," up 104,634%, "2026 Hanoi Grade 10 admission scores," up 69,458%, and "2026 high school graduation exam registration," up 54,100%.
The online learning and exam preparation platform DOL THPT also recorded a 29,525% increase in searches.
Smartphones, software and employment trends
Among mobile devices, the Honor 600 Pro recorded a 3,725% increase in searches, followed by the OPPO Find X9s at 2,341%.
The Redmi K90 Max and OPPO K15 Pro also emerged among the fastest-rising search terms despite not yet being officially released.
In software, iOS 27 saw searches increase by 669% during its testing phase, while Adobe rose 91% alongside product updates and developments related to user accounts.
Coc Coc's report also highlighted a growing interest among Vietnamese job seekers in the public sector.
Searches for the "National Employment Exchange" surged by 7,857%, while "Ministry of Health recruitment" and "2026 civil servant recruitment" increased by 936% and 147%, respectively.
Within the private sector, searches related to highly skilled technical positions remained dominant. Queries for AI engineer jobs rose 139%, followed by mechanical engineering at 127% and cyber security at 108%.
The report also found that users are increasingly searching for jobs tied to specific localities rather than using broad occupation-based searches.
