Turkish volleyball club Kuzeyboru has officially announced its decision to part ways with Tran Thi Thanh Thuy.
"We have mutually agreed to part ways with Vietnamese player Tran Thi Thanh Thuy. Since joining the team, 4T has left beautiful memories with her teammates and fans. We sincerely thank 4T for those wonderful moments. Thank you, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy," Kuzeyboru announced regarding the departure of their key spiker.
Tran Thi Thanh Thuy joined Kuzeyboru at the end of August. The Vietnamese attacker appeared in only two matches, including one in the CEV Cup and another in the Turkish National Volleyball League.
Her contract with Kuzeyboru was originally set for 10 months, ending in May 2025. However, due to an injury, her European journey has come to an early conclusion.
Before her departure, Thanh Thuy was not listed in Kuzeyboru's squad for their match against Sariyer in the Turkish National Volleyball League. Representatives from VTV Binh Dien Long An, Thanh Thuy's home club, noted that they had received information a few days earlier about Kuzeyboru's head coach deciding to release her.
Although her stint in Europe ended prematurely, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy remains the most successful volleyball player in Vietnam's history, having competed in Thailand, Taiwan (China), Japan, and Turkey.
Upon returning to Vietnam, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy will be unable to compete in the second phase or the finals of the 2024 National Volleyball Championship due to the registration deadline having passed.
Experts believe Thanh Thuy is better suited for competitions in Japan and South Korea, where the level of play aligns with her skills, rather than the highly competitive environment of European leagues.
