At the 2025 International Mathematics Contest (IMC) held in Singapore in early August, the Vietnamese student team achieved outstanding results, winning a total of 63 awards, including 11 gold medals, 16 silver medals, 28 bronze medals, and 8 merit prizes.

The IMC has consistently attracted strong interest from students across Vietnam since its launch. After a competitive national selection round, 63 top-performing students were chosen to represent Vietnam at the final round in Singapore.

Impressively, all 63 Vietnamese contestants achieved awards, with 55 of them earning medals. These results reflect not only their careful preparation and disciplined study but also the intellectual strength of Vietnamese students on the international stage.

Organized annually by the IMC Union since 2005, the International Mathematics Contest brings together students from grades 3 to 8 from many countries and territories. It serves as more than just a competition  -  it is a platform to inspire a passion for mathematics, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills among young students.

The Vietnamese team was selected through a transparent and rigorous process. The finalists represented a diverse group of primary and secondary schools across the country. Among them, two students from MAY Primary and Secondary School  -  Do Bao An (Grade 4B1) and Le Viet Tung (Grade 5A1)  -  won silver medals, contributing to the team's impressive performance.

Beyond academics, IMC 2025 also offered valuable international cultural exchange experiences. Vietnamese students explored various attractions in Singapore, connected with peers from different countries, and gained meaningful personal growth.

With the motto “Science has no borders,” IMC fosters a global educational community and promotes the love of mathematics, especially at the elementary and middle school levels. Over the past 20 years, the contest has become a respected intellectual platform and a launching pad for math enthusiasts worldwide, opening doors to scholarships and study opportunities in the future.
