VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnam has qualified for the quarter-finals of the 2014 AFC Futsal Championship after triumphantly defeating Kuwait 2-1 on May 4 at Phu Tho Stadium in HCM City.
Vietnam got off to a first half lead with a score capitalising a superb transfer of Trong Luan to Kuwait’s Ahmad lung, who kicked to ball into his home net.
Four minutes after the second half began, Trong Luan scored a second goal for Vietnam to widen the gap to 2-0.
However, Kuwait successfully secured a goal as the final seconds of the match wound down due to a mistake of Vietnamese goalkeeper Phuoc Anh.
The singular goal helped Kuwait recapture the lead of Group A and put Vietnam into a tough competition against Iran – a promising candidate for the champion title.
Kuwait will next face off with Australian players who ranked second in Group B.
