The show opened in Mumbai, home of Bollywood, on February 27. Representatives from Vietnam include Anh Sao Pictures, Director Peter Hien and Ambassador to India Ton Sinh Thanh.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, FFI President Shri T.P. Aggarwal said this year’s show aims to boost tourism and cultural exchanges between countries and their film industries. The countries’ films will gain new options for shooting locations overseas, he added.

According to Ambassador Thanh, Vietnam offers a diversity of landscapes, including pristine lakes and rivers, 3,000 kilometres of coastline, and unique cultural and historical sites for Bollywood films. The US film Kong: Skull Island is currently shooting in Vietnam, he said.

The country’s filmmakers have proved themselves in recent years with a number of international movie awards and are ready to cooperate with India and other countries, he added.

The diplomat said the Vietnam Cinema Department and the Vietnamese Embassy in India will help film projects from India seek partners and establish procedures.
