VietNamNet Bridge – For the first time participating in the Rainforest Challenge for four wheel drive vehicles in Malaysia from December 4 to 13, Vietnam’s team named Otofun ranked 16th out of 48 teams and won the consolation prize.


The Rainforest Challenge - established and created in 1997, in Malaysia, is now the world's most internationally represented 4x4 off-road event, with participants and media from dozens of countries joining the adventure every year.

The RFC is an award winner of Malaysia's Most Spectacular Sports Tourism Event and Malaysia’s Book of Records holder for Most Countries Participation in a 4x4 Event. Extraordinary 4x4 adventurers participate in an extraordinary 10-day event held in an extraordinary season. Among 48 teams, only 27 finished the race while the other 21 failed due to breakdowns or injuries. Despite facing technical problems, the Vietnamese racers managed to complete the four racing rounds.

Vietnam Otofun Team was also given a special prize, “Most Team Gentlemen”. This is considered a great initial success for the country’s advancement of off-road sporting.

The team had two cars, one for racing driven by two athletes and the other for technical support managed by five people who are members of off-road car clubs.

Otofun is the largest community for car drivers in Vietnam.
