VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnam grabbed nine gold, 11 silver and five bronze medals at the World Para Athletics Grand Prix Series which closed in China on Monday.

Among the gold medalists were Tran Van Nguyen (javelin throw, men’s F40 class), Kieu Minh Trung (javelin throw, men’s F55 class), Nguyen Hoang Minh (5,000m, men’s T12 category), Pham Nguyen Khanh Minh (400m, men’s T12) and Truong Bich Van (discus throw, women’s F56).
The Vietnamese delegation placed third in the overall rankings.
China finished first by taking 64 gold, 17 silver and 10 bronze medals.
The three-day event attracted about 268 athletes from 16 countries and regions including Greece, the United States, Kazakhstan, Thailand and Vietnam.
The 2018 World Para-Athletics Grand Prix series now heads to Rieti in Italy on May 18-20 May for the fourth of nine Grand Prix set to take place around the world this year.
