Vietnam began the tournament with a strong opening performance, defeating Hong Kong (China) 9-1. In their second outing, coach Diego Giustozzi’s squad faced China and immediately took the initiative.

Just two minutes into the match, Vietnam opened the scoring. Three minutes later, Ngoc Anh completed a quick double, giving the team an early 3-0 lead.

By the 10th minute, Da Hai added another goal with a powerful finish. Before halftime, Thinh Phat tapped in from close range to extend Vietnam’s lead to 5-0.

In the second half, China improved their game and created some chances as Vietnam occasionally lost possession in midfield. However, goalkeeper Pham Van Tu remained solid and kept the Chinese attack at bay.

In the 33rd minute, Thinh Phat scored again with another close-range finish, making it 6-0. Immediately afterward, China’s Gu Haitao was shown a red card, leaving his team a man down. Taking advantage of the situation, Vietnam added a seventh goal, once again scored by Thinh Phat, completing his hat trick.

China managed two consolation goals before the final whistle, but the result was never in doubt. The 7-2 win gives Vietnam a strong position in the group and a high probability of advancing to the 2026 AFC Futsal Championship finals.

Vietnam will play their final group match against Lebanon on September 24.
