Vietnam and Timor-Leste have signed a visa exemption agreement for ordinary passport holders, marking a major step in strengthening bilateral ties.

Vietnam and Timor-Leste reaffirmed their friendship as the two prime ministers met for talks following a formal reception at Government Headquarters.

PM of Timor-Leste Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão arrived in Hanoi on June 7 afternoon, beginning his official visit to Vietnam and attendance at the third ASEAN Future Forum (AFF) from June 7–10 at the invitation of Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung.

At the invitation of Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, Timor-Leste Prime Minister Kay Rala Xanana Gusmao will pay an official visit to Vietnam and attend the third ASEAN Future Forum from June 7 to 10.

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and State President To Lam met with President of Timor-Leste José Ramos-Horta in Singapore on May 29.

Vietnam will continue to actively support Timor-Leste in effectively participating in and actively contributing to the ASEAN Community, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung affirmed on September 16.

Party General Secretary To Lam received Timor-Leste President Jose Ramos-Horta in Hanoi on February 25 during the latter’s visit to Vietnam to attend the second ASEAN Future Forum.
