A representative of the Traffic Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security said on the afternoon of Sept. 29 that the agency had approved the plan for the 11th vehicle license plate auction and sent the list of available plates to the auction company for public listing and selection.

The upcoming round will offer 325,335 car license plates and 422,880 motorcycle plates.

Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City will have the largest numbers of license plates available for auction.

According to the Traffic Police Department representative, the auction is expected to begin in early November after the list of available plates has been publicly posted for 30 days.

Since Vietnam launched vehicle license plate auctions in September 2023, more than 14 million plates have been listed.

Around 600,000 registrations to participate in the auctions have been recorded, generating more than $430 million for the state budget.

In the 10th auction round alone, 92,980 license plates were successfully auctioned, generating approximately $114 million.
