according to decisions made by PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc during a recent meeting on COVID-19 prevention and control.

PM Phuc asked localities to arrange quarantine facilities to meet the requirements of all those who enter the country, regardless of their nationality. He also agreed to collect fees at existing accommodation establishments that have been transformed into quarantine camps.

The Ministry of Finance was requested to coordinate with the Ministry of Health to quickly issue guidelines regarding the fee.

The Prime Minister asked provinces and cities, especially border provinces, in coordination with the Ministry of National Defense to strictly manage immigration in the border areas to prevent illegal entry.

The Ministry of Public Security and local authorities, especially with regards to the health sector, were also requested to provide strict supervision over quarantine camps in line with COVID-19 prevention and control regulations.

At the meeting, PM Phuc agreed to the Ministry of Planning and Investment’s proposal which will see experts from the Republic of Korea (RoK) being granted entry into the country, or alternatively facilitating entry procedures for other investors, if necessary.

The Ministry of Transport was assigned to coordinate with relevant ministries to consider reopening commercial flights to Japan, the RoK, and other safe countries.

The Prime Minister asked all sectors and levels to continue to be vigilant against epidemics and to form suitable lifestyles and behaviors in epidemic conditions.

The head of the Government assigned relevant agencies and ministries to organize flights to bring Vietnamese citizens back home and facilitate the entry of foreign experts, investors and skilled workers.

The Prime Minister also approved the Ministry of Planning and Investment’s proposals to allow senior personnel of Korean companies to enter Vietnam early for short business trips.

The Ministry of Transport was requested to coordinate with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Health, and Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to consider the reopening of commercial routes between Vietnam and Japan, South Korea and other places, reporting to the Prime Minister before August 31. Priority should be given to organizing flights to bring Vietnamese workers to Japan and South Korea.

The Prime Minister emphasized that during this period, the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control needs to thoroughly grasp the "dual goal" of the Government, not to let the epidemic spread, but also not to disrupt economic activities.
