VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnam is on the verge of receiving an automatic berth to compete in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League for the 2015-2016 season thanks to their new team ranking.

According to the AFC’s latest release, Vietnam currently ranks fifteenth out of 46 AFC football member teams in Asia with 28,243 points.

According to AFC regulations, the top 24 AFC members in the rankings are eligible for sending their representatives to the 2015-16 Champions League competition. This means Vietnam maintain their rank till the end of the year, they will receive an automatic berth to compete.

Though the final rankings will not be released until November, with Vietnam’s current position, it would be difficult to come up with a scenario in which the team would drop out of the top 24.
