VietNamNet Bridge – More than 100 Vietnamese athletes will participate in the 2013 Asian Youth Games in China from August 16-24.

They will compete in 14 out of the total 17 events such as track-and-field, swimming, table-tennis, taekwondo, weightlifting, male soccer, handball, shooting, badminton, golf, fencing and judo.

There is high hope for them to glory in swimming, track-and-field, taekwondo, weightlifting and shooting events.

Swimmers Nguyen Thi Anh Vien and Tran Duy Khoi are the two most hopefuls at the upcoming tournament.

At the 4th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG) recently held in the Republic of Korea, the Vietnamese swimmers bagged two gold medals.

In the first Asian Youth Games four years ago, Vietnam had only 28 athletes and was placed 14th with two silver medals.
