VietNamNet Bridge - Thrashing Laos 7-0 in the semifinals on the afternoon of September 20 in the Thong Nhat Stadium HCM City, the women’s national football team of Vietnam will compete for the championship of the Southeast Asian Cup 2012.

Laos is the weakest opponent in the four finalist teams. It was a great advantage for Vietnam to face Lao in the semifinals.
In fact, Vietnam had a quite easy match and it trounced Laos 7-0. This victory did not take much effort of Vietnam and it will help the team to save energy for the final game against Myanmar. In the second semifinals, Myanmar had to struggle to win Thailand 1-0. In the first round, Vietnam defeated Myanmar 2-1.
Though Vietnam’s rival in the semi-finals was considered to be weaker but Chinese coach Chen Yun Fat launched his most powerful team to ensure an absolute win.

At the 7th minute, Minh Nguyet scored the first goal. At the 18th minute, Nguyen Thi Muon raised the score to 2-0 for Vietnam. Two minutes later, Nguyen Thi Muon had her second goal, widening the gap to 3-0.
Into the second half, the game continued under the control of Vietnam. At the 67th minute, Minh Nguyet scored her second goal. One minute later, Nguyen Thi Hoa brought another goal for Vietnam, increasing the gap to 5-0. Not stopping there, at the 72nd and 79th minute, Nguyen Thi Hoa and Thanh Huong scored 2 more goals. The game finished 7-0.
Coach Chen Yun Fat said he was very surprised when his students trounced Laos at that score. "I'm happy with the playing spirit of the team in this match. I hope that they will play well in the finals. The opportunity is shared for both Vietnam and Myanmar. However, the team will be determined to win the championship."
