VietNamNet Bridge – The national football squad will play friendly against Bahrain, the Republic of Korea (RoK), Palestine and Malaysia in October and November in preparation for the Southeast Asian Football (AFF) Championships which Vietnam will co-host with Singapore.

The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) in co-ordination with Ho Chi Minh City Football Federation (HFF) will organize two friendly matches for Vietnam’s football team.

They will meet U23 Bahrain team on October 29 and Korean student team on November 4. Both will be held in Thong Nhat stadium.

At each match, the winner will receive US$5,000. The loser will get US$2,000.

The national football squad on October 27 travelled from Binh Duong Province to Ho Chi Minh City to prepare for the two friendly matches.

Then they will fly to Hanoi to play friendly against Palestine on November 9 and Malaysia on November 16.

AFF Cup 2014 is set to get underway in Hanoi and Singapore from November 22 to December 20.

Group A, which is played in Hanoi, includes the Philippines, Indonesia, Laos and Vietnam.

Singapore will host Group B, which consists of Myanmar, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore.

The championship title holder will be awarded US$200,000 in cash. The second and third prize winners will be delivered US$75,000 and US$50,000, respectively.
