During a tourism promotion conference in Hanoi on April 10, Ha Van Sieu, deputy head of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, announced the Vietnam Expo in Hollywood project, scheduled to take place in September this year.
The initiative aims to attract 200 Hollywood producers and directors, including key industry players responsible for films like Kong and Peter Pan, as well as industry giants like Netflix.
The expo will feature film exhibitions highlighting Vietnam’s natural beauty and cinematic appeal, along with presentations on the country’s film-making policies. It will also include a culinary showcase featuring Vietnamese cuisine.
With an estimated cost of around VND10 billion for a single day, excluding booth setup and design expenses, the event is expected to host 15 to 20 booths, welcoming visitors free of charge.
Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho An Phong highlighted Vietnam’s tourism sector’s remarkable growth, with over 4.6 million international visitors in the January-March period, up by 72% year-on-year and 3.2% over 2019.
He stressed the importance of sustained efforts to enhance quality, efficiency, and promotion to ensure continued growth.
