This year's production promises to be larger and more spectacular, with significant investments in scenery, stage, sound, lighting, and costumes to give the musical a fresh new look.

The musical will be performed at Hoa Binh Theater in Ho Chi Minh City from July 12-14 and at the National Convention Center in Hanoi from August 2-3.

This change of venues aims to bring Broadway-style musical standards closer to the Vietnamese audience and accommodate the high demand that led to sold-out shows in its first year.

Director Jesse Donaldson Jarret emphasized that Broadway-style musicals require artists to not only act with realism and emotion but also excel in choreography and maintain stable singing voices. Therefore, the production team has meticulously selected and rigorously trained the actors in these skills to ensure that each performance shines and resonates emotionally with the audience.

Lighting director Dang Xuan Truong highlighted that the unique aspect of Shrek: The Musical 2024 is its blend of Eastern and Western styles. The use of lighting will convey the passage of time and the expansion of emotions, enhancing the storytelling on stage.

The costumes for Shrek: The Musical 2024 are designed with environmentally friendly materials, primarily recycled from jeans. These hand-sewn costumes are both unique and beautiful, reflecting a commitment to sustainability.

The production of Shrek: The Musical 2024 is directed by Meritorious Artist Dang Chau Anh and Jesse Donaldson Jarrett, with artistic direction by Nicholas Gentile and stage management by Minh Anh Le.
