VietNamNet Bridge – The 36th International Theatre Institute (ITI) World Congress will be held in Viet Nam in 2018.
The year marks the 70th anniversary of the ITI (1948-2018), according to Tobias Biancone, the institute's director general.
Vietnamese writer, director and producer Le Qui Duong was elected to one of the sixteen seats on the Executive Council at the 34th ITI World Congress in Armenia last November.
He was also elected Vice President of the International Festival Forum, a prestigious project committee.
This was the first time in the 66-year history of ITI that a member from Viet Nam was voted into the Executive Council.
ITI is the world's largest organisation for the performing arts. Its centres can be found in more than 80 nations.
Every two years the institute organises a World Congress where it decides on its leadership, strategy and national and international projects.
