VietNamNet Bridge – After the talks with Vietnamese young film makers in Hanoi on November 8, Lars Henrik Gass, director of Germany’s Oberhausen International Short Film Festival received some Vietnamese independent short films for the upcoming festival.

The 57th festival will take place in Germany from May 5-10 2011. This is one of the most famous and oldest festivals for short films in the world. World reputed film directors like Martin Scorsese, Roman Polanski, George Lucas or Werner Herzog introduced their first products at this festival.

 

This year, the chair of the festival, Lars Henrik, went to Vietnam to seek outstanding short films of independent film makers for the event, which will focus on Asian films.

Henrik met with Vietnamese film makers on November 8. At the meeting, Vietnamese film makers introduced their products. Binh Thanh, a young director in Hanoi, introduced four short movies that were filmed since late 2009.

 

Henrik also made a presentation and introduced some outstanding music video clips at the Hanoi Goethe Institute the same day.

 

Vietnamese film makers can send their works to the festival until January 15 2011, to compete for the Grand Prize worth Eur7500 and two main prizes worth Eur3500 each.
