VietNamNet Bridge – On the afternoon of February 25, in Hanoi, Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh, Deputy Minister of Defense, met with the Assistant to the UN Secretary-General, in charge of the UN peacekeeping force, Mr. Edmond Mulet.

In the meeting, Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh stressed that the help, contribution, sharing of the experience of the UN peacekeepers and Mr. Edmond Mulet’s comments during his visit to Vietnam help the Vietnamese people's Army to prepare well for the participation in the UN peacekeeping force in early 2014.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh informed the UN official on Vietnam’s professional training of adviser, medic, engineer officers and the officers on duty as observer at the United Nations.

Mr. Edmond Mulet said the UN peacekeeping agency plans to discuss in detail with the Vietnam People's Army, and create favorable conditions for Vietnam to send a delegation to visit a mission doing peacekeeping mission to the UN.
