VietNamNet Bridge - Vietnam and many countries around the world will see the partial lunar eclipse on the early morning of April 26.

 

 

 

The partial lunar eclipse will take place in about 27 minutes, starting from 2h54 to 3h21 am on April 26, Hanoi time. This phenomenon will reach its peak at around 3h08 am.

According to Mr. Dang Tuan Duy, from the HCM City Amateur Astronomers’ Club (HAAC), this time only a very small fraction, less than two percent, of the surface of the moon will enter into the shadow created by the Earth.

Viewers will observe the full moon be obscured at a small area at the edge (because this part goes to the southern edge of the shadow created by the Earth in space) and a surface of the moon will be darker than normal since it goes to the penumbra of the shadow created by the Earth in space.

Duy said, with a small portion of the surface is obscured; viewers will not almost see the moon surface gradually shifting into red color. "Only when the full lunar eclipse takes place or when a sufficiently large part of the moon surface is obscured, that phenomenon happens," he explained.

Experts recommend that observers can see the eclipse with their eyes.
