speech on Feb. 29 at the 19th meeting of the United Nation’s Human Rights
Council, which opened on Feb. 27 in Geneva.

Vietnam ’s delegation is led by Deputy Foreign Minister Le Luong Minh.
The human rights situation in several countries, including Syria , will feature high on the Council’s agenda.
The nine panel discussions during the meeting will cover issues such as the relation between sport and human rights, freedom of expression on the internet, and rights of the disabled, among others.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the Vietnamese delegation is scheduled to hold talks with several countries to prepare for the country’s candidacy for membership of the Human Rights Council in the term of 2013-2016.
