VietNamNet Bridge – Viet Nam will take part in the Junior Davis Cup and Fed Cup to be held in India on February 18-25.

The Vietnamese team includes six players: Nguyen Van Phuong, Vo Hoang Hung and Pham Duc Phu (male) and Tran Thuy Thanh Truc, Nguyen Ngoc Minh Phuong and Nguyen Thi Mai Huong (female).

According to Nguyen Thi Kieu My, general secretary of HCM City Tennis Federation and head of the Vietnamese team, there are 12 male teams taking part in the Davis Cup and 10 female teams in the Fed Cup. They will compete in four singles matches and one doubles match.

My said in Asia, India, Thailand, China, the Philippines are strong teams but Viet Nam may cause an upset at the event as young Vietnamese players such as Phuong, Hung and Truc are developing well.
