This comes as Le Thi Thu Hang, spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry, was speaking in response to a reporter's question regarding reports in the Chinese media that 500,000 doses of the vaccine given to Vietnam would not be deployed as originally agreed.
“On June 20, Vietnam received 500,000 doses of Sinopharm's Vero Cell vaccine, along with 502,400 single-use syringes and needles donated by the Chinese Government. The vaccine doses will be deployed and used by Vietnam in accordance with the spirit of the Government Resolution 21 dated February 26, 2021 on the purchase and use of COVID-19 vaccines,” Hang said.
Simultaneously, upon the request of the Chinese side, Vietnam will also carry out the vaccination of Chinese citizens working in the nation, the spokeswoman added.
