Viet Nam cruised to a 25-19, 25-16, 21-25, 16-25, 15-10 win and will vie for today’s ninth place with Qatar, who beat Pakistan 25-19, 20-25, 17-25, 25-18, 15-12 yesterday.

In their previous round, Viet Nam lost 22-25, 15-25, 25-19, 25-27 to Qatar on Saturday.

In the other matches yesterday, defending champions Japan won 25-21, 25-16, 25-22 over Australia; Indonesia beat two-time winners Iran 25-18, 25-18, 23-25, 24-26, 11-15 and South Korea overcame China 25-18, 25-19, 25-23.
