VietNamNet Bridge - Vietnam dominated the 15th Asian Xiangqi Chinese Chess Individual Championship that closed in Macau on November 4, after its players topped both the men's and women's categories.

Nguyen Hoang Lam and Bui Duong Tran won the men’s gold and silver medals while Ngo Lan Huong took the gold medal in the women's group.

Lam and Huong become the first Vietnamese players crowning the title at the Asian arena in the 31-year history of the event. In 1998, Nguyen Thanh Bao had won a gold medal for U-18 group of the Asian Xiangqi Championship. Ngo Lan Huong won a gold at the 2007 Asian Indoor Games in Macau.

The competition, which took place from November 1 to 4, attracted 30 players from 16 countries.

Vietnamese chess players returned home on November 6, in the warm welcome of fans and officials of the Vietnam and HCM City Chess Federations.

At the Tan Son Nhat Airport, Vice Chair of the Vietnam Chess Federation Dang Tat Thang presented $1,500 of bonus to Lang Huong and Hoang Lam and $1,000 to Duong Tran.
