VietNamNet Bridge – The Vietnamese team - Hungyen Techedu has been crowned at the the Asia-Pacific Robot Contest (ABU Robocon), that rounded off on August 23 in Indonesia.
The team comprising students from Hung Yen University of Technology and Education defeated rivals from Egypt (5-1), Kazakhstan (5-0), Japan (5-1) and the host Indonesia (5-1) to qualify for the final round. They trounced Hong Kong (China) team 5-1 to grasp the first prize.
This is the second consecutive year and the fourth time Vietnamese students had secured the top spot at the annual robot-making competition.
Earlier, students from HCM City University of Technology and Lac Hong University earned the champion title in 2002, 2004, 2006, and in 2014 respectively.
This year’s contest attracted 19 teams from 18 countries and territories. Indonesia and Thailand came second and third at the competition.
