Following a dramatic draw against Thailand U17 women's national football team in the opening match, Vietnam entered the clash with a cautious approach. Against a physically stronger and more dominant side, head coach Okiyama Masahiko instructed his players to slow the tempo and rely on defensive counter-attacks.
However, China asserted control from the opening whistle, creating sustained pressure. The breakthrough came in the 16th minute from a corner, when Ju Zhitong headed home to open the scoring.
By the 26th minute, Vietnam had just 16% possession and had yet to register a shot. China continued to dominate and doubled their lead in the 32nd minute, with Ju Zhitong finishing from close range after a cross from the left.
Early in the second half, China extended their advantage. In the 49th minute, Cheng Wandi rose highest from another corner to head past the Vietnamese goalkeeper. Vietnam’s defense struggled throughout with aerial duels.
Trailing by three goals, Vietnam showed determination, but the match remained largely one-sided. China maintained control until the final whistle, securing a convincing 3-0 victory.
