VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnam’s U19 team were knocked out of the group stages of the AFF Under-19 Championship in Indonesia following a 2-2 draw with Singapore on Monday night.

The team finished third in Group A with eight points from five matches. Thailand and Indonesia topped the group and progressed to the semi-finals with 13 points and 12 points, respectively.

Vietnam were on the attack from the get-go, and took full advantage of a defencive error to open the scoring in the 20th minute through Nguyen Huu Thang.

After the break, Singapore equalised just past the hour mark with a strike from Akmal Azman.

In the 70th minute, Le Van Nam restored the lead for Vietnam, but Muhammad Syahadat Masnawi had the last say with four minutes to go to level the score at 2-2.
