Vietnam concluded the group with a goal difference of minus five, scoring two goals and conceding seven, while India, despite their final victory, ended with a minus nine goal difference. This margin allowed Vietnam to rank above their rival.
The match between India and Chinese Taipei unfolded as expected, with the South Asian side dominating and securing a 3-1 win. However, the result was not sufficient for India to overtake Vietnam in the standings among third-placed teams.
Reaching the quarterfinals is a deserved outcome for Vietnam’s U20 women, who navigated a challenging group. Although they did not qualify directly, the team made the most of their opportunity to advance.
In the quarterfinals, Vietnam will face the U20 women’s team of Japan. The winner of this match will secure a place at the 2027 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.
