VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnam welcomes Japan’s decision to conduct consultations with members of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement in a move to join the TPP talks, Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokesman Luong Thanh Nghi said.

He made the statement on November 14 in response to reporters’ question on Vietnam’s viewpoint on Japan’s November 11 announcement of its decision to consult with TPP members on entering TPP talks.

“Judging from its important role in the Asia-Pacific region and the world, we believe that Japan’s participation will be an active factor in promoting the TPP talks and deepening the strategic partnership between Vietnam and Japan,” said the spokesman.
