Among them, arrivals by air, road, and sea in the reviewed period recorded annual increases of 17.3%, 62.1% and 1.6%, respectively.
Over the past eight months, over 8 million visitors arrived from Asia, accounting for more than 77% of the total number of tourists travelling to the country, an increase of 27% over the same period last year.
Meanwhile, visitors from Europe were estimated at over 1.4 million, up 9.8% over the same period last year, 636,400 were from the Americas, mainly from the United States, up 12.6%, 300,700 came from Oceania, up 7.4%, and nearly 28,000 arrived from Africa, up 20.4%.
In August alone, over 1.3 million foreign visitors arrived in Vietnam, representing an annual increase of 11.3%. Of which arrivals by air increased by 7.7%, by road increased by 29.4%, and arriving by sea increased by 21.3%. Compared to the same period last year, international visitors to Vietnam increased by 7.7%, of which Asian visitors increased 8.2%, Europeans rose 5.8%, from the Americas increased by 9%, from Oceania decreased by 0.1% and those from Africa increased by 13.7%.
