With this medal, Viet Nam have won 73 gold, 53 silver and 60 bronze medals to rank third out of 11 teams in the medal tally.

Thailand are on top with 95 gold, 83 silver and 68 bronze medals, while the hosts Singapore are in second place with 83 gold, 73 silver and 102 bronze medals.

Viet Nam lost to Thailand 3-0 in the volleyball final to get the silver medal. It was the fourth SEA Games final loss in a row for the team.

Viet Nam played very well but couldn't defeat the Thai rivals, who were better in terms of height and skills.

The two teams clashed for every point in the first set, but Thailand finally defeated Viet Nam 25-20.

In the initial minutes of the second set, Viet Nam even took the lead with a gap of two points. However, Thailand levelled the score at 13-13, and then beat Viet Nam 25-19.

Viet Nam made every effort to score points in the last set, but still lost to Thailand 23-25.

Earlier, Viet Nam's women's volleyball team also lost to Thailand 3-0 in the final.

The SEA Games' closing ceremony will take place at the Singapore National Stadium at 7pm tonight.

The spectators of the ceremony will receive a commemorative supporter's medallion as part of their fun pack. They will also be treated to a snazzy cocktail of the past, present and the future, the Singapore SEA Games Organising Committee said.

Road closures and restrictions will be in place to ensure the smooth running of the ceremony.
