Tran Dinh Son, a young athlete from Ha Tinh, brought home a gold medal in the men’s 400m category with a time of 47.11secs.

Viet Nam’s another gold medal belonged to Quach Cong Lich of Thanh Hoa in the men’s 400m hurdle with a time of 51.03secs.

Asian Grand Prix winner Lich’s best result in this category is 50.28secs.

Viet Nam sent five athletes to compete in the tournament, which was one of the last events for athletes to warm up ahead of the largest regional sporting competition -- Southeast Asian Games -- also to be held in Malaysia next month.
