VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnamese students have won one gold medal, one silver and three bronzes at the 2013 Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad, the Ministry of Education and Training announced on May 21.

The gold medalist is Vu Dinh Quang Dat, a 12th grader from the Senior High School for Gifted Students under the Hanoi National University, while the silver medal went to Nguyen Phan Quang Minh, 11th grader of the Nguyen Trai Gifted High School in northern Hai Duong Province.
The three bronzes were given to Nguyen Duc Nam and Pham Thai Son from Hanoi, and Thai Dinh Phuc from central Nghe An Province.
This year’s competition was held in Singapore on May 11, with the participation of 500 students from 21 countries and territories in the region. Only five countries won gold at the contest.
