Following a straight-sets win in their tournament opener, Vietnam entered the match determined to overcome Hong Kong and strengthen their position at the top of the group. Although Hong Kong were considered a stronger side than Lebanon, they were still not expected to pose a serious challenge to coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team.

As anticipated, Vietnam dominated throughout the contest. Similar to the opening match, Nguyen Tuan Kiet opted not to field his strongest lineup in order to preserve key players. Vietnam's starting six featured Yen Nhi, Nhu Quynh, Dinh Thi Thuy, Le Thanh Thuy, Doan Thi Xuan and Nhu Anh.

Vietnam quickly took control of the opening set. Le Thanh Thuy and her teammates built scoring runs to establish commanding leads of 10-3 and 15-5 before closing out the set 25-9. In addition to Vietnam's attacking efficiency, Hong Kong struggled with receiving and blocking errors.

The second set proved more competitive as Hong Kong played with greater determination. The score was level at 10-10 at one stage, but accurate attacks from Ly Thi Luyen and Nhu Quynh helped Vietnam regain momentum and pull away before securing the set 25-18.

In the third set, Vietnam continued to deny their opponents any opportunity to mount a comeback, cruising to a 25-11 victory and completing a straight-sets win to consolidate their place at the top of the group standings.

Vietnam's next match will be against Indonesia at 5 p.m. on June 8. The encounter is expected to provide the defending champions with their first significant test of this year's tournament.
