The Vietnam women's volleyball team finishes fourth at the Shanghai Future Stars 2025.

In the final match of the competition, Vietnam faced U21 Shanghai (China). Head coach Nguyen Ngoc Hoa fielded a lineup that included Nguyen Thi Uyen, Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh, Luu Thi Ly Ly, Tran Thi Bich Thuy, and Bui Thi Anh Thao.

In the first set, Vietnam fell 17-25. They performed better in the second set but narrowly lost 23-25. In the third set, U21 Shanghai edged out Vietnam once again 25-23, sealing a 3-0 sweep.

With this result, the Vietnam team concluded the tournament in fourth place. The competition was primarily aimed at providing experience and exposure for young and reserve players, so Nguyen Thi Phuong and her teammates did not focus heavily on results.

Immediately after the tournament, coach Nguyen Ngoc Hoa and her squad will return to Vietnam and regroup with key players such as Bich Tuyen, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, and Khanh Dang to prepare for the SEA V-League.

For the upcoming regional tournament, head coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet recently finalized a 15-player roster featuring familiar names such as Thanh Thuy, Bich Tuyen, Kieu Trinh, Khanh Dang, Lam Oanh, and Bich Thuy. Notably, the list also includes emerging talents like Nguyen Thi Uyen, Luu Thi Ly Ly, and Nguyen Thi Ninh Anh - standout performers from recent tournaments including the AVC Challenge Cup and the VTV Cup.

SEA V-League 2025 will see participation from four strong teams in the region: Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and the Philippines. After the first leg in Thailand from August 1 to 3, the second leg will be held in Ninh Binh from August 9 to 11.
