The hosts defeated Malaysia 5-3 yesterday to top Group B with six points.
Nguyen Thi Thu Hien scored the first hat trick of the competition, between an opener by Nguyen Thi Thu Huong at the second minute and Ngan Thi Van Su at the 13th mark.
Malaysia narrowed the result with three goals by Nor Shahira, Anis Aishah, and Alice Mic Michael.
In an earlier match, the Philippines came from behind to win 3-1 over Singapore.
In today's matches, Viet Nam will face Singapore, while Myanmar will play the Philippines.
In the Group A action, Thailand struggled to beat Cambodia 1-0, partly due to a heavy rain, which strongly affected players' abilities.
Anupha Noinueai scored the only goal of the match, with a shoot to the far corner of goalie Phoeur Thou in the 15th minute after interval.
In another match, Myanmar trounced Laos 4-1.
U17s set to show skills in HCM City
The National U17 Football Championship Final will kick off in HCM City on June 30.
Eight teams have passed the qualification round and will join the hosts, HCM City, in the tournament.
They are divided into two teams to play at Thong Nhat and District 8 stadiums, according to a press briefing held at Ha Noi on Jun 25.
Participants will compete in a round robin format in the group stage and two best teams will advance to the semi-finals.
Winners will be awarded VND100 million (US$4,500). The organisers of the event will present bonuses for the best player, best scorer, and best goalie.
The opening, semi-final, and final matches will be aired live on VTV3 channel.
