At the ceremony 

 



On behalf of the Ustecky region council, Jan Kubicek, director of Ustecky’sintegration office, presented a certificate from the regional court recognisingthe Buddhist cultural centre of Most Pagoda as a provincial-level centre at a ceremonyin the city on August 11.

The event affirmed the Buddhist culture of theVietnamese community in the country is growing in popularity and is increasinglyvalued by the local administration.

Speakingat the ceremony, head of the pagodaVenerable Thich Thong Dat stressed the significance of the recognition, saying itwas the honour for Buddhists in the Czech Republic and demonstrates theinterest of the regional authorities in the religious activities of Vietnamesein the country.

The centre will also contribute to preserving thetraditional culture identities of Vietnam and the Vietnamese language, headded.

Kubicek said the Vietnamese community does a lot to preserve and introduceVietnam’s cultural identity.

The official said he hopes the centre will strengthen solidarity in thecommunity and help Vietnamese youths and Czech people understand more aboutVietnam’s traditional culture.-VNA
