He will compete against other Asian actors in the category, including Andie Chen and Kim Jae Hoon of Singapore, Khir Rahman of Malaysia, Tan Jianci of China, and Jake CuencaK-Love of the Philippines.

Truong Thinh impressed viewers by taking on a main role in Vietnamese web-drama “Bụi đời chợ quê”.

The 31-year-old actor earlier won the best web drama actor title at the Ngôi Sao Xanh (Blue Star) Awards, a prestigious awards held in the Vietnamese television industry.

The Asian Television Awards was launched in 1996 with the aim of recognising and rewarding programming and production excellence in the Asian television industry.

The ceremony is every December and comprises 56 categories across news, documentaries & current affairs, kids and animation, entertainment, drama, technical, and digital, as well as performances such as acting and directing.

The event typically draws about 1,400 entries each year from a wide range of broadcasters, including free-to-air TV stations, pay-TV platforms, OTT platforms, as well as many independent production houses in Asia.

The Asian Television Awards 2023 ceremony is scheduled to take place on January 12 and 13, 2024, in Ho Chi Minh City.
