Local audiences will have chance to enjoy traditional theatre performances from Vietnamese and Chinese troupes from Saturday till Monday.

The three day event is being held by Việt Nam’s Drama Theatre, Chèo (Traditional Vietnamese Opera) Theatre, Tuồng (Classic Drama), the Water Puppetry Theatre and a Chinese art troupe.

The Việt Nam-China theatre exchange night on October 30 in Việt Nam Chèo Theatre, will feature special performances, including excerpts from the classical play Hồ Nguyệt Cô Hóa Cáo (Hồ Nguyệt Cô Turns into a Fox).

Chinese art troupes will also introduce excerpts of six well-known Chinese plays including The Destiny of White Snake.

The drama Journey to the West of Nanjing troupe will be performed on October 31 in Việt Nam Chèo Theatre, 71 Kim Mã Street. —VNS
