VietNamNet Bridge – Two Vietnamese accordion players have won the first-place prize at the China ASEAN International Accordion Competition in the 18 to 35 group, which recently concluded in Nanning City, Guangxi.

Winners Pham Quang Huy, and Nguyen Dinh Tiep are both currently studying at the Vietnam National Academy of Music.
Associate Professor Luu Quang Minh, was invited to make up the competition’s jury alongside a concert accordionist and a professor at the academy.
This year, the China ASEAN International Accordion Competition drew the participation of 1160 contestants, who competed across a range of different age categories.
The competition, held for the first time in Nanning city, aims to promote the diverse development of accordion and create opportunities for artists from different countries to exchange experience and performance styles.
Back in 2012, Pham Quang Huy came second in Category C of the under-19 age group during the Val Tidone International Music Competitions held in Piacenza City, Italy.
