VietNamNet Bridge – Bamboo Wing, an architectural work made from bamboo in the
northern province of Vinh Phuc, has won the International Architecture Award of
the Chicago Athenaeum Museum in the US.
The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design has organized the
International Architecture Awards on annual basis as away in which to honor the
best, new significant buildings and landscape and planning projects designed
and/or built around the world.
The program pays tribute to new developments in design and underscores the
directions and understanding of current cutting-edge processes consistent with
today’s design thinking.
This year’s program honors new (2008-2011) corporate, institutional, commercial,
residential architecture, interiors, and urban planning, designed for both built
and unfinished projects alike.
The countries that take the lead in this year’s program include: the US (14
awards), Australia and China (9), Japan (7), France (5) and Vietnam (1).
This work features the wings made by bamboo, designed by architects of the Vo
Trong Nghia Co., Ltd.
This work entered the top five of the World Architecture Festival’s Structural
Design-Spans category in Spain in 2008.
This year Vo Trong Nghia Co., Ltd won the Green Leadership Architecture Award in
Singapore for its Bar Win and Water.
In 2009, the Bar Wind and Water (Bar w-N-w) in the southern province of Binh
Duong won the second prize at the World Architecture Festival 2009 in Spain.
