Biker Dung to race in Sepang
Nguyen Hoang Anh Dung will represent Viet Nam at the Suzuki Asian Challenge Motorcycling Championship 2015 in Sepang, Malaysia.
It is the first time in history a Vietnamese racer will compete at an international motorcycling competition.
Dung finished second behind Nguyen Quang Khai at a national tournament held in Ben Tre Province in early March.
In Sepang, riders will use the Suzuli Raiser R150.
The first round will be held on Sunday where Dung will compete against 16 rivals.
The 24-year-old started racing two years ago. His best result was a title at the Exciter R135 race early this year in Can Tho Province.
Ha Noi win wushu champs
Ha Noi topped the National Wushu Championships which closed in Dak Lak Province yesterday, April 14.
The 17-athlete delegation won 17 golds and 10 silver medals after four days of competition.
HCM City came second with five golds, followed by the Ministry of Public Security who won four.
The championships attracted more than 252 martial atists from 28 cities and provinces.
The organisers said that wushu centres like Ha Noi and HCM City dominated the tournament. However, the quality of competition was not as good as in previous years, with a lower number of the participants.
Quyen wins stage, Linh leads
Tran Van Quyen secured his first stage win yesterday (April 14) on the fourth stage of the HCM City Television Cycling Tournament.
The Military Zone 7 rider cycled 20 laps around Ho Chi Minh Square in Vinh City in a time of 1hr 12.474min, just ahead of Nguyen Thanh Tam of Gao Hat Ngoc Troi An Giang and Nguyen Vu Linh of Domesco Dong Thap.
Linh retained the yellow jersey as tour leader with an overall time of 8:43.39 after four stages.
Nguyen Quoc Dinh of Ben Tre and Quang Van Cuong from Dong Da Ha Noi are in second and third.
Linh also leads the race for the green jersey for the best rider with 41 points.
Cuong, who has been in the top three for three days in a row, has jumped to the top of the rankings for the white jersey for the beat young cyclist.
Gao Hat Ngoc Troi An Giang still lead the team event, followed by Domesco Dong Thap and Military Zone 7.
The fifth stage will cover 199km from Vinh City in Nghe An Province to Dong Hoi City in Quang Tri Province.
